IFRS and US GAAP accounting: entries that come from what your business already does

Remotjob keeps your double-entry books under full IFRS, IFRS for SMEs or US GAAP, with a model chart of accounts for 19 countries. Your sales, purchases, payments and bank movements become journal entries, and from there ledgers, balance sheet and financial statements. You or your accountant review and close.

Your operations happen in one place and the books are built in another

When sales, purchases, the warehouse, the store till and expense reports live apart from accounting, someone has to redo everything by hand at month end. Remotjob posts the documents that already exist in the platform, keeps every entry balanced and traceable, and shows you what is missing before you close the period.

From operations to financial statements in six steps

One continuous path, from setup to year-end close.

  1. 1

    Choose country and standard

You set up your organization with its country and accounting standard: full IFRS, IFRS for SMEs or US GAAP. The country’s model chart of accounts is copied to your organization and you can extend it with your own accounts.

  2. 2

    Your documents become entries

Sales and purchase invoices, receipts, credit notes, supplier payments and movements from the connected bank generate their double-entry journal entries. Posting again never duplicates an entry.

  3. 3

    Review journal and ledger

You see each entry with its origin, create manual entries as drafts and post them only when they balance. A posted entry is never deleted: it is reversed, and both stay on record.

  4. 4

Get the balance sheet and statements

Trial balance, balance sheet, income statement and cash flow, calculated from your entries and in your organization’s currency, using daily exchange rates when foreign currency is involved.

  5. 5

    Prepare your tax reports

Purchase and sales ledgers or a sales tax report, depending on the country, so your accountant can prepare the filings that apply outside Remotjob.

  6. 6

Close the month and the year

Every month has a closing checklist: what is in order, what needs review and what blocks. Closing leaves minutes, and you can download an Excel package for your accountant. At year end, the fiscal-year close moves the result to retained earnings.

What is included

Standard and country by configuration

Full IFRS, IFRS for SMEs or US GAAP, with profiles for 19 countries that define the standard, chart of accounts, currency, consumption tax and fiscal-year start month, which you can also edit.

Model chart of accounts in 6 languages

A model chart per country (Chile, the US and a general IFRS chart for the rest), with account names in all six Remotjob languages. It is yours: extend it with the accounts you need.

Double entry, journal and ledger

Every entry balances: total debits equal total credits. General journal, general ledger with running balance, drafts, reversals and a lock date to protect what is already closed.

Financial statements

Trial balance, balance sheet, income statement and a direct-method cash flow, always calculated from posted entries.

Taxes and exchange rates

Purchase and sales reports with their tax to prepare your filings, and automatic daily exchange rates with the source in view. If you use your own rate, yours takes priority.

Automatic accounting of operations

Inventory, Manufacturing, Point of sale and Expense reports can generate one entry per document. It is off by default: you turn it on when you want, with a preview of each entry, a queue for closed periods and re-posting when a document changes.

Month close with checklist and accountant package

A checklist with items in order, to review and blocking, each with a direct link. Closing with open items requires a written reason, which goes into the minutes. The accountant package is a six-sheet Excel file for the month.

Process map included

The module comes with its own map: what the team does (review, close, approve), what the system does (post, balance, reverse, warn) and what the AI does, which here makes no accounting decisions. It links with Sales, Procurement, Bank and reconciliation, Treasury, Inventory, Manufacturing, Point of sale and Expense reports.

Answers to decide with

What the team records in accounting becomes organizational knowledge: Company Brain for management and People Chat for the team, according to their role, can return answers to decide with.

Traceable accounting, with people in charge

The books are the organization’s financial memory. That is why every entry has an origin, every close has an owner and nothing is rewritten silently.

  • Role-based permissions: viewing accounting and administering it are different permissions.
  • Each organization sees only its own accounting and its own documents.
  • Every automatic entry records the document it came from; posting again does not duplicate it.
  • Posted entries are not edited, they are reversed. Closed periods are not touched without reopening them.
  • Each month close leaves minutes showing who closed, when and with which open items; the reason is written down.
  • Automatic accounting, which is off by default, shows a preview before writing and keeps in view anything it could not post.

What it is and what it is not

  • It is double-entry accounting and financial statements. It does not replace your accountant: you or they review, decide and close.
  • It does not issue electronic tax documents to the tax authority or file tax returns for you. The tax reports help you prepare them.
  • Automatic accounting of operations is off by default and only posts the modules you turn on.
  • It does not currently include official country-specific charts of accounts for places such as Spain, Germany, France, Mexico or Brazil; for those cases the extendable general IFRS chart is used.

Frequently asked questions

Which accounting standards does it support?

Full IFRS, IFRS for SMEs and US GAAP. Each country has a profile with its standard, model chart of accounts, currency and consumption tax; today that is 19 countries. Chile reports under IFRS and the United States under US GAAP.

Which entries are generated automatically?

Those from sales and purchase invoices, receipts, credit notes, refunds, supplier payments and movements from the connected bank. Also, if you turn it on, those from Inventory, Manufacturing, Point of sale and Expense reports.

What if a document changes after it has been posted?

With automatic accounting on, the engine reverses the previous entry and creates the new one if the period is open. If the period is closed, it leaves a pending adjustment that is applied when you reopen it or as an adjustment in the next period.

Does it file my tax returns?

No. Remotjob produces the purchase and sales reports with their tax so you or your accountant can prepare the filings. It does not issue electronic tax documents either: that is still done in your tax system.

How do I close a month?

You open the closing checklist, review the items in order, to review and blocking, and close. If anything blocks you must write a reason, which goes into the minutes. You can also reopen the month and download the Excel package for your accountant.
